Law School Admission Council
The Law School Admission Council, known as the LSAC, oversees the entire law school application process. The LSAC administers the Law School Admission Test, oversees the Credential Assembly Service, and provides a variety of resources and information helpful to the application process. Applicants should familiarize themselves with LSAC.org well before they start the process of applying to law school.
Much like ASU, the LSAC has two sides to their website. Their main webpage contains resources and information relating to the law school application process. Visitors may explore LSAT prep materials, search all accredited law schools, and learn about the application process. Applicants will be asked to create an LSAC account, which houses the more secure areas of the website much like a student's MyASU account. Through the LSAC account, students may access current applications, LSAT scores, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and more.
ASU Achievement Program
The ASU Achievement Program allows applicants who meet certain criteria to apply to the JD program without taking the LSAT. In general, the applicant must have earned or will earn a bachelor's degree from ASU within a particular time frame or be applying as a joint degree candidate.
Students interested in applying to the ASU Achievement Program should contact the ASU Law Admission Office prior to applying or registering with LSAC.
Credential Assembly Service (CAS)
All students applying to law school are required to purchase the CAS. The CAS gathers transcripts, LSAT scores, and letters of recommendation into a law school report. Law school reports are sent to law schools along with the student's completed application.
- Law school applications — Applications for all ABA-approved law schools are located on the LSAC website. Students choose each school they wish to apply to and submit their application through their LSAC account.
- Applications open each fall for admission the following year.
- Each school generally opens their application process in August or September, but students should check with LSAC for the exact dates of each school they are interested in applying to.
